Cancer Patients in Bangladesh Community
According to the recent information, more than 15 Bangladeshi people, living only in Greater Toronto area, have been suffering from blood cancer and urgently needing stem cell transplant.
Md. Adbur Rashid (68 years old) was living in Markham, GTA had been suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. His doctors had said that stem cell transplant could only cure and could create opportunities for him to lead a normal life. But, for this to happen he was needed a stem cell donor who was a proper match for him. But we could not help him to find stem cell match, because we still not aware of the urgency of donating stem cell. Md. Abdur Rashid died on April 25, 2013 after a long battle with Cancer. Sajeed – a 10 years old also died on February 4, 2013 after an one year long battle with blood cancer.
Masuda, a mother of 3 kids of ages 5, 3 and 2 years, has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Eventually, she will be needing stem cells for cure from an unrelated donor as her siblings are not proper matches. The greatest chances of finding a match for her lie in the same ethnic group (e.g., Bangladeshis). These people need our help to live in this beautiful world. To save their lives, we only need your pure intention from the bottom of your heart. Without your support we cannot do anything. We never know when we will need the same support for our close ones.
Masura Zakaria who is only 11-year-old and lives in Michigan, USA is diagnosed with Leukemia CANCER. Her treatment has started with chemotherapy. However, stem cell transplant can only cure her. Please act now !!! be a stem cell donor to save her life.
We only have 114 registered donors from our Bangladeshi community in Canada. This is nothing in compare to other ethnic group stem cell donor database bank.
We never know – we may need same help for us tomorrow like Rashid. Please do not wait for tomorrow. We might not get a chance to see tomorrow. Be a proud stem cell donor today and save your life with others.
